Last night, The Argyle opened its doors to Dallas realtors and locators for an exclusive look. Built in the 1920’s, The Argyle was the first high rise in Dallas that offered independent living. The roaring 20’s was a time of growth and prosperity, as well as new fashion and many parties. The Argyle’s handsome brick exterior and Manhattan style made it an instant Dallas celebrity. Bachelors, couples, and even families lived in this iconic building. Last year, Indio began a full-scale redevelopment of the building, renovating the building’s interior and restructuring the apartments. The first half of the building was completed just in time for the party. The exterior was left untouched, apart from an extensive power wash, and many structural aspects of The Argyle were left intact. Indio’s goal was to keep the style and spirit of The Argyle the same, while bringing it into the 21st century and adding modern touches. The Argyle was luxurious when it was built, and the updates bring it a new sense of luxury, worthy of this time. The party included champagne and other drinks (à la Gatsby), catering by Parigi, and private tours of the new apartments. Jazz music and 1920’s décor set the mood, and a raffle was conducted for those who stopped by. All in all, a great reintroduction of this Dallas landmark.
