Indio’s long-awaited block party at the Bella Villa apartments took place just over a week ago, on June 20th. In a sense, it was a reintroduction to society for this historic landmark. Built in the 1920’s, this Mediterranean-style building was a swanky place for young professionals and couples to live. Over the years, the building unfortunately fell into a state of disarray and became an eyesore for the Vickey Place neighborhood. Indio was honored to be given the project of restoring and renovating this building, and yesterday the veil was lifted for the block party. Hundreds of people stopped by including neighbors, news sources, and interested Dallas residents. Indio gave away custom t-shirts printed by Bullzerk and provided local beers. There was also live music by Hailey Erin Music, a bounce house for kids, cornhole setups, and the Easy Sliders food truck with the first 100 customers eating for free. What a better way to celebrate the history of this building, than by bringing the community together! Write-ups were down by D Magazine, Paper City, Lakewood Advocate, and others.
