As part of our "Give Back" initiative, Indio recently teamed up with Hunger Busters, a local charity focused on providing meals each day for food-insecure Dallas ISD students. This is an organization that Indio volunteered with back in 2018, and after a positive experience, both parties were excited to reunite. Indio felt it was a meaningful year to contribute, as this was many students' first full year back on campus, post-COVID-19 shut downs of in-person instruction.Hunger Busters prioritizes providing a critical third meal for students whose meal program only provides breakfast and lunch.Additionally, Hunger Busters differentiates itself from other typical food drives by serving fresh food every day. The program gets its food from EatZi's, Jason's Deli, and Aphrodite Bakery. This extra effort ensures that students receive a quality meal and not just food that others simply donate because they don't want it.To assist the cause, Indio associates volunteered their time to putting the meals together by making sandwiches and packaging baked goods. Indio provided two different days for associates to volunteer to ensure that all who anted to partake, had the opportunity to do so.
