Interior Designer

Position Summary:

Indio Management is seeking a highly organized, intuitive, effective communicator, Interior Designer to join our team! The Interior Designer is responsible for overseeing full-cycle interior multifamily renovation projects from design conception through completion and installation. In addition, the Interior Designer is responsible for working with Indio’s internal team and overseeing the design concept of various aspects of apartment communities, including but not limited to multifamily homes, leasing offices, amenity centers, dog parks, fitness centers, etc. The Interior Designer will also be responsible for material selection, including paint, fixtures, finishes, furniture, and coordinate with the executive and construction teams on design installation and execution.

Essential Functions:

  • Manage interior renovation projects from concept to completion. Working with internal and external teams to ensure designs are completed to specification to Indio design standards and requirements.

  • Consult with construction team members on design process and select materials for projects including but not limited to paint colors, finishes, hardware, tile, flooring, etc.

  • Assist with procurement of materials for a design project. Responsibilities may include budgeting, purchasing, and scheduling materials for various job sites.

  • Lead and participate in various project planning phases including tours of current and upcoming projects, consulting internal teams on schedule and budgeting for projects, communicate project vision to other team members, etc.

  • Develop 3D renderings of projects for internal and external presentations.

  • Oversee planning and execution of installation including traveling to and walking potential and future job sites and managing installation teams to ensure completed project meets design criteria and standards

Job Competencies:

  • Intermediate to advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office suites (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.).

  • Must have exceptional written and verbal communication skills.

  • Must have the ability to develop, maintain, and foster relationships at every level among the organization and external customers.

  • Ability to exercise initiative, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.

  • Ability to establish priorities and coordinate work activities.

  • The ability to travel (up to 20%) for training, conferences, and other sites as needed.

Qualifications:

  • 3+ years of experience in renovation and or interior design project management required. Previous multifamily experience highly preferred.

  • Demonstrated experience leading projects including knowledge and understanding of budgets, construction project requirements and timelines, etc.

  • Ability to travel locally and across Texas as needed.

  • Bachelor’s degree in interior design or Architecture highly preferred.

  • Ability to work on multiple projects required.

  • Minimum three years of residential property management experience
