Director of Training and Operations Support

Position Summary:

Indio Management is seeking a strategic and detail-oriented Director of Training and Operations Support to join our team. The Director of Training and Operations Support is responsible for directing and coordinating the strategic functions of Indio Management training and operations support companywide.

Essential Functions:

  • Develop training programs in all areas of operations, including sales, process and leadership as needed.

  • Exhibits strong commitment to the service needs of internal and external customers.

  • Participates in developing short- and long-term company strategic plans, ensuring operational strategies are aligned in support of goals and objectives, and highlighting through operational policies and procedures a company culture of innovation, respect, accountability, and transparency.

  • Proactively address the complexities in operational processes, including standardizing property procedures, providing backup support, assuring internal controls, and establishing support systems while encouraging individual, team, and company achievement and accomplishments and reflecting local, state, and federal laws and requirements.

  • Leads the further development of comprehensive and continuous training to provide staff the resources, tools, and technical assistance to address any gaps in employee awareness or skills and assures appropriate orientation to comprehensive project management, review, and corrective action.

  • Oversees the training department, structures effective training programs, and provides metrics and ROI for training programs. Develops and maintains training curriculum for corporate, regional, district manager training, and maintenance and facilities department in collaboration with appropriate departments.

  • Researches and recommends innovative information technology, methodologies, and training techniques that provide the tools for smooth, transparent operations that improve business goals and systems. Attends NAA and NMHC Ops Tech conferences to keep up to date on industry trends.

  • Establishes and maintains Indio Management policies and procedures to streamline information and improve accessibility. Collaborates and consults with Senior Leadership, Operations, and Regional Directors for enhancements or necessary changes to add or remove policies. Establishes and maintains a Policy and Procedure Committee that meets quarterly.

  • Oversees the application support department, reviews and approves system integrations with Resman and other programs; provides monthly/quarterly metrics to identify exceptions and communicates corrective action plans.

  • Oversees project management and provides direction and collaboration on project implementations, integrations, and training plans for property operations.

  • Leads the onboarding process for new properties and team members to ensure smooth transition for all parties.

  • Oversees vendor contract negotiations and compliance for all preferred vendors. (ResMan, Sight Plan and other software programs as utilized by supply vendors at the direction of the Senior Vice President.

  • Reviews and approves any changes to standard blue moon lease and/or attachments.

  • Promotes Indio's statement, policies, procedures and business growth strategy.

  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business, Management, Marketing, or Training or work experience equivalent

  • 5+ years’ experience in all levels of corporate operations

  • Demonstrated success of effectively leading change and organizational growth through strategic planning

  • Strong understanding of the multifamily industry

  • Solid and effective oral and written communication skills

  • Proven ability to build and motivate teams

  • Strong organizational & prioritization skills

  • Positive attitude and strong interpersonal skills

  • Results-oriented and self-motivated team leader

  • Ability to handle multiple projects and thrive in a fast-paced environment

  • Will travel as needed to meet business needs should not exceed 25%

  • A valid driver's license is required

  • Ability to work with a diverse group of people and customers
